David Mruz, D.C., ’80, of Greenville, SC, was appointed District Ten Director of the South Carolina Chiropractic Association in June 2014. The counties represented in this district are Anderson, Greenville, Pickens and Oconee. (Posted Jul ’14)

Sandra Levenson, D.C., PennColl ‘81, was married to Russell Andersson on September 21, 2014, in Phoenixville, PA. (Posted Nov ’14)

Research by faculty members John Hart, D.C., Claudia Seay, D.C., ’80, and Cindy Gibbon. D.C., ’91, was published in the Annals of Vertebral Subluxation Research 2014; June 30: 110-112.  The study is titled, Intra-examiner repeatability of mastoid fossa temperature differentials using the Tytron instrument. (Posted Jul ’14)

Roxzanne Breland D.C., ’86, of Greenville, SC, was recently elected to chair the agency board of the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department. She has served on the board since 2002. The Vocational Rehabilitation Department prepares and assists South Carolinians with disabilities to achieve and maintain competitive employment. (Posted Apr ’15)

Valerie Pennacchio, D.C.,  ’90, of Oxford, England, was promoted to full professor in Chiropractic Education at BPP University. Pennacchio is Vice Principal at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic which is managed by BPP University. (Posted Nov ’14)

Lisa Lanzara-Bazzani, D.C., ’92, of Nashua, NH, was elected  Chairwoman of the New Hampshire State Board of Chiropractic Examiners. She has the distinction of being the first woman to hold this seat in New Hampshire history. Lisa and her husband Victor, ’93, serve their community at Bazzani  Chiropractic in Nashua and are parents to two daughters. ( Posted Sep ’14)

Tyrone D. Wallace, D.C., ’94, of Lake City, SC, was honored with a resolution recognizing and honoring his ongoing contributions to his community and the State of South Carolina by the South Carolina House of Representatives on March 25, 2014, at the State House in Columbia, SC. (Posted Apr ’14) Additionally, he was named Chiropractor of the Year 2014 by the South Carolina Chiropractic Association in June. A case series paper written by Karen Lumb, D.C., ’14, of Greenville, SC,  was published in the Journal of Pediatric, Maternal & Family Health – Chiropractic ~ Volume 2014 ~ Issue 4. Deaths

Michele Bolufer, D.C., ’77 of Cullera, Spain, died on January 14, 2015. She is survived by her husband, Miguel, also a 1977 graduate, their three children Samuel, Natasha (Javier) and Ines (Thomas) and two grandchildren. (Posted Mar ’15)

Henry Bruce, III, D.C., Penn Coll ’88, of Lyman, SC, died March 29, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Carol and two daughters, his sister and Sherman graduate, Debbie Bruce Watson, D.C.,’95, and parents Dr. Henry and Donna Bruce. (Posted Apr ’15)

Maria Kay Brown Moore, D.C., ’99, died unexpectedly on May 20, 2014. She is survived by her mother and her brother, also a Sherman graduate, Jay Brown, D.C., ’97, of Woodruff, SC.  (Posted Jul ’14)
