STUDENT PROFILES
Name: Brandy Chapman
Hometown: Icard, N.C.
Undergraduate schooling: B.A. in English
with Double Minors in Biology and Chemistry from
the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill
Age: 24
Why did you choose Sherman College?
I liked the location of Sherman College, as well
as it’s smaller class size. Coming from a large
university, it’s a nice change to know all of
the students, as well as the personal attention
from the faculty and staff.
Activities you are involved in at Sherman
College:
Tour Guide; Anatomy Lab Assistant and Tutor;
Palpation Club; Diversified Club; ADAPT Club
Favorite thing to do or place to go on a
Saturday night:
In the summer- hang out in Downtown Spartanburg
at Wild Wing Café or Delaneys; in the winter-
snow skiing at Sugar Mountain, North Carolina
Favorite thing about Sherman College:
The people! We have some great faculty members
and I am lucky to have fun people in my classes.
You need a little bit of comic relief from Dr.
Clayton or Dr. Duke when discussing the sacral
plexus!!
Most challenging thing about Sherman College:
Multi-tasking! We have to study for 3-5 tests in
one week, or two or three in the same day, while
still going to clubs and class. You want to stay
well-rounded, but sometimes it is hard.
Advice for students choosing chiropractic as
a career and/or coming to Sherman College:
Be prepared to work! Most people don’t
understand the commitment it takes to be
successful in school. Also, don’t get bogged
down- make sure you make time to work out and
maintain your physical health, as well as
maintain your sanity.
