Atlas Orthogonality refers to the proper alignment of the atlas vertebra beneath the skull, ensuring the normal positioning of the vertebrae of the rest of the spinal column in relationship to each other. The result is a clear and unobstructed path for the spinal nerves, spinal cord and vertebral arteries, thereby permitting natural function, mobility and health. Roy W. Sweat, D.C., is a 1949 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. He is highly regarded in the areas of research and technique and is the creator of the Atlas Orthogonal Technique, a precise system of x-ray and spinal analysis which uses a specific method of adjusting the atlas subluxation. Matthew H. Sweat, D.C., graduated from Life College of Chiropractic in 1989. He is board certified in Atlas Orthogonality and is a member of the Board of Directors of the R.W. Sweat Research Foundation.
