Getting Personal – Want a Phone Call from
Sherman’s New President?

Have a suggestion for Sherman
College’s new president? Need something from
Sherman that you’re currently not getting?
Sherman President Jon Schwartzbauer, D.C., wants
to hear from you. Really.
Sherman’s fourth president has made a personal
commitment to call five Sherman
alumni/supporters each day. He says he wants to
find new ways to “connect and build stronger
bonds” with alumni and friends. He even included
the idea as part of his plan of “Things To Do If
I Become Sherman’s Next President.”
Now that Schwartzbauer actually is president,
he’s busy making those calls. He’s already
phoned more than 100 people. “I want alumni to
know that we want to continue to support them –
even after they graduate,” he says. “I want to
know what we can do to help them in practice and
in life.”
Schwartzbauer says during one of his recent
conversations, an alumnus joked that he could
always use more patients. Not taking the comment
at face value, Schwartzbauer forwarded some
information to Director of
Alumni Relations Marggi Roldan. She contacted
the alum to check and update his contact
information so that when potential patients call
the college looking for a Sherman grad (at least
a weekly occurrence), she’ll be ready to
recommend that doctor to folks in his area.
“We hope to have more meaningful contact with
alumni to show them that we genuinely care and
we want to help meet their needs,” Schwartzbauer
says.
