Conference to Feature Vertebral Subluxation:
Sherman College Issues Call for Abstracts for IRAPS 2008

Vertebral subluxation takes center stage at Sherman College October 17-19, 2008, for the fifth annual International Research and Philosophy Symposium (IRAPS), which is presented on Sherman’s campus in South Carolina as part of the college’s Fall Lyceum program. Abstracts for on the topic of the vertebral subluxation are being accepted through April 30.

“The profession is faced with an ethical imperative to shift its research focus to the vertebral subluxation,” says Sherman Director of Research Ralph Boone, Ph.D., D.C. “Engagement in relevant research is essential if the body of knowledge is to increase.”

The objective of IRAPS 2008 is to seek new insight into the core concept of vertebral subluxation. Papers are invited that relate to scientific inquiry, as well as topics that address the art and philosophy connected to vertebral subluxation. Possible subtopics include the following:

• Detection and correction of vertebral subluxation (VS)
• Economic impact of VS
• Historical, political and sociological impact of VS
• Philosophic models — the reasoning and logic surrounding VS
• Outcomes — the evidence and benefits of VS correction
• Practitioner viewpoint — professional implications and lifestyle of VS centered
  practice
• Documentation - supporting clinical findings related to VS

Abstracts should be 500 to 1,000 words and should be submitted electronically along with a current vita showing educational and other scholarly accomplishments. Each double-spaced detailed abstract should include a title, introduction, discussion, conclusion and references.
