ORGANIZATIONS
There are many different
types of clubs and organizations available at
Sherman College. The list below reflects the
club's title, its mission and/or purpose, and
club advisor(s).
FAMILY PRACTICE
Provide students w/the knowledge to begin to
prepare their ideal family practice so at
graduation they will be prepared. Mission - Help
students build their ideal family practice.|

ACTIVATOR
To learn all activator methods to locate
subluxations in the spine. To understand
the listings and LOD for the correction of a
particular subluxation or subluxations. This
particular knowledge could either be used as a
supplemental technique for infants, small
children, or the elderly, as a safe and
effective mode for correction. Or could be used
as someone's primary technique. Mission -
to locate, analyze & correct vertebral
subluxations through the use of a low force
instrumentation.
ATLAS ORTHOGONAL
To promote increased awareness of AO amongst the
student body and to improve upon the skills and
knowledge of those students who choose to use AO
as an upper cervical specific technique. To
communicate with AO clubs from other colleges
and with AO practitioners to promote awareness
of Sherman College and our approach to upper
cervical specific straight chiropractic as well
as to gain knowledge and insight from these
sources.

CHRISTIAN CHIROPRACTIC

DIVERSIFIED
To teach and practice diversified techniques.
Mission - To help students understand and to
teach the Diversified Technique.

GONSTEAD
To provide each student chiropractor with a
thorough comprehension of the chiropractic
principles and philosophy, simultaneously
reinforcing an understanding of the sciences and
ultimately allowing the clinician, thru the arts
of the Gonstead system, to perform with
complete courage, a technique to find and fix,
by hand only, a vertebral subluxation, and
thus, allowing the body's innate intelligence to
express the force necessary to do the healing.
That is in essence the unadulterated,
enthusiastic, expression of chiropractic; as
originated by our own predecessor, reinforced by
our mentors, and perpetuated by our peers, for
the successful distribution to the world.

NETWORK
To serve students by exposing them to a variety
of methodologies and approaches to the
correction of vertebral subluxations. This
exploration of individual Philosophic Scientific
and Artistic aspects of chiropractic shall be
designed to aid students in their development as
principled chiropractors.

PEDIATRIC
To learn how to take care of children of all
ages as well as the pregnant woman. Learn &
research common questions like vaccines, if
Pediatric chiropractic is safe, birth trauma, as
well as different techniques for adjusting.
Mission - Learning how to take accurate care of
pregnant women, infants, and toddlers.

PALPATION
To introduce student so quarters 1-2 to
techniques of palpation. To provide an
opportunity for students of quarters 3 & up to
review and practice techniques of palpation. To
enhance the skills of Sherman students in
adjusting by increasing specificity
regarding contact points, analysis, etc. Mission
- To provide an opportunity for Sherman College
students to learn about, review, and practice
the art and skill of palpation.
WOMEN IN CHIROPRACTIC
To provide an opportunity for women in the field
to share their experiences, fellowship, and
ideas on expanding the role of women in the
profession.

UPPER CERVICAL
To discuss the need for clearing out primary
subluxations. Field chiropractors will come to
provide a brief on a technique. Any UC technique
will be accepted including those taught in the
SCSC core curriculum and those not. Mission -
the philosophy, science, and art of clearing out
primary subluxations.

WORLD CHIROPRACTIC ALLIANCE
To create an awareness about the principles,
philosophy and practice of subluxation-based
chiropractic by utilization of the following:
Health talks, newsletter, guest speakers,
special events. Mission - To promote subluxation-based
chiropractic on campus and throughout the
Greenville-Spartanburg community.

SOT
To teach and help students who are interested in
Sacro-Occipital technique. Provide the newest
information on SOT and chiropractic.
Mission - Establish SOT club that gives students
exposure to a technique of sacro-occipital
technique.

THOMPSON
To study Thompson Technique and provide
opportunities to learn Thompson Technique.
Mission - To provide students opportunities to
study and practice Thompson techniques.

TOASTMASTER
This will be a chapter of Toastmasters Int'l
which will meet here on campus and serve the
Sherman community. Students/members will pay
dues to the Parent Organization.. We will
request funds to pay initial fee of $90 to State
Chapter and possibly add'l monies for supplies.
Mission - Teach & practice the art of public
speaking.

RESULTS/PIERCE
To promote an increased awareness of the Results
technique amongst the student body and to
improve upon the skills and knowledge of the
students who choose to use this technique in
their practice.

WCCS
The representation of SCSC and straight
chiropractic at the annual world congress.
To keep the student body informed of current
WCCS events. To be a source of communication
between all affiliated WCCS colleges to advance
straight chiropractic in WCCS through all
available means as deemed prudent.
