Thank You! We Met the Challenge

We have exciting news to share with you! We met the challenge to raise $15,000 for the Health Center Equipment Fund. And because we did, three alumni have matched those gifts, dollar for dollar.

Chiro One Gives 15000 to ShermanThat’s right, if you donated to the Health Center Equipment Fund in 2012 your donation was doubled by the matching funds.

Three alumni of the college from the Chicago area, Drs. Brian Rutecki, Gary Roeben and Sam Wang, issued a pledge back in February: for every dollar others donated to this fund, they would match it, up to $15,000! The more than $30,000 raised will make a real difference in supporting the equipment needs in the Sherman College Health Center.

We wanted to meet this challenge quickly. And we did, thanks to you, our alumni and friends of the college. The challenge was not only met, but exceeded during Sherman’s three day, continuing education and homecoming weekend, Lyceum. There, members of the Sherman College Alumni Association topped off the goal and then some when they literally passed the hat and collected $1,000 within minutes. Sherman alumni are the best!spinometer

Why They Gave...

The reason that Gary and I supported the Health Center Equipment Fund Endowment matching gift challenge is that the Health Center is greatly in need of up-dated, maintained equipment in order to continue to provide a professional working environment for the students.  This will also allow them to provide quality care to their patients.  We are also excited for ChiroOne's generous matching challenge program.  Where else can you get a 100% return on educational investment dollars?

I was so excited to learn about the matching gift opportunity offered by Drs. Roeben, Rutecki and Wang that I couldn't resist having my donation to the Health Center Equipment Fund DOUBLED! It’s a great opportunity for the college to have this fund at endowment level when we meet the challenge. This fund will help provide state of the art equipment for our interns for years to come. Sherman interns deserve the very best, and I wanted to help them get it.
