Dean of Chiropractic Health Services Laura
Chadwick Weeks, D.C., Elected to Executive
Committee of Accrediting Agency
JANUARY 26, 2001 -
Sherman College Dean of
Chiropractic Health Services Laura Chadwick
Weeks, D.C., will serve as the only
representative from a chiropractic college on
the three-person executive committee of the
Commission on Accreditation of the Council on
Chiropractic Education (COA/CCE) following her
recent election as secretary.
The COA/CCE enforces and interprets the Council
on Chiropractic standards, determining if
colleges meet the standards. The Commission also
organizes and serves on accreditation site visit
teams.
Weeks was elected to the executive committee
during the Commission’s semi-annual meeting in
Phoenix in January 2001. Weeks was first named
to the Commission in January 2000. As secretary
of the executive committee, Weeks will meet with
other committee members to facilitate Commission
business.
Dr. Weeks’ election to this highly visible and
important profession-wide leadership position is
reflective of the level of service and expertise
she has contributed in her role previously as a
member of the Commission and is an example of
the high caliber of professionals associated
with Sherman College,” said Brian J. McAulay,
D.C., Ph.D., interim president. “We are very
proud of her accomplishments and the role she
will play as an advocate for maintaining the
high academic standards that serve the interests
and needs of chiropractic students and the
future of our profession.”
Weeks is a 1990 graduate of Sherman College and
holds a bachelor’s degree from Winthrop
University. She resides in Greenville, SC.
