Health Center Holds School Supply, Canned
Food Drive
JANUARY 3, 2003 - The
Chiropractic Health Center collected school
supplies and canned foods for needy families and
local charities in two drives this fall.
Patients, students, faculty and staff
contributed generously to the school supply
drive, which was the college’s first. Patients
received either a discounted or complimentary
visit in exchange for bringing supplies.
College friends also contributed more than 3,000
cans of food during the annual food drive.
Interns in the health center encouraged their
patients to participate, and patients who
donated six cans or more were treated to a
complimentary visit. Cans were donated to The
United Way, The Salvation Army, Miracle Life
Missions and the Safe Homes/Rape Crisis Center.
“The generosity of our patients and college
community has really shown during these events,”
says Director of Community Relations Linda
Price, who organized the drives. “Our proceeds
continue to grow each year and surpass previous
years. This year, our supporters made it
possible for us to split the proceeds among four
wonderful organizations.”
