Pat Summerall Productions to Air Their Program Featuring Sherman College

This fall Sherman College’s message will reach households across the United States when The Discovery Channel will air Pat Summerall Productions’ paid program entitled Champions of Industry. The 30-minute special, “Spotlight on Education,” will feature four cutting-edge schools and colleges and is hosted by Pat Summerall, the acclaimed broadcaster known as “the voice of the NFL.”

The show is scheduled to air on October 14 at 7:00 a.m. and again on November 11 at 8:00 a.m. Eastern/Pacific time. The segment devoted to Sherman College will last approximately five minutes. Please check the college’s web site (www.sherman.edu) closer to the air date to confirm these scheduled times. Streaming video of our segment will be posted at Pat Summerall Productions’ web site, www.patsummerall.com, for one year.

Sherman College was selected for inclusion in the program earlier this year, and a videographer for Pat Summerall Productions visited campus on July 14 to conduct interviews and tape classroom and Health Center activities for the production.

During its search for institutions to highlight, Pat Summerall Productions sought U.S. colleges that exemplify leadership and success and have unique curricula and missions. The four schools selected are those that are “engaged in innovative efforts to deliver on their missions,” according to the company. The other three educational institutions featured in the October 14, 2003, program include the University of Southern Mississippi, Gadsden State Community College (AL) and Williamson County School District in Tennessee.

According to Pat Summerall Productions’ web site, the “Champions of Industry” series serves as the company’s recognition award for excellence in business practices and has been airing for eight years. Companies attain champion status “because of their integrity, ingenuity and proven leadership in their respective industries,” the site notes. Summerall, the site adds, is “the most sought after voice-over and spokesman in the production industry.”
