Sherman Granted Reaffirmation of
Accreditation from CCE
The Commission on Accreditation (COA) of the
Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) notified
Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic on
January 14, 2005, that it had reaffirmed
accreditation of the doctor of chiropractic
degree program. As such, the doctor of
chiropractic degree program of Sherman College
of Straight Chiropractic is accredited by the
Commission on Accreditation of the Council on
Chiropractic Education, 8049 North 85th Way,
Scottsdale, AZ, 85258-4321, Tel: (480) 443-8877.
“Reaffirmation is the result of much hard work
and dedication by faculty, staff,
administrators, students and the many supporters
of Sherman College,” says Sherman President
Jerry L. Hardee, Ed.D. “We are pleased that our
efforts have been acknowledged through the
reaffirmation of accreditation.”
The reaffirmation process includes the college’s
continuous assessment of program outcomes to
determine its effectiveness in relation to its
mission, goals and objectives. Accreditation is
a status granted by the COA/CCE to doctor of
chiropractic degree programs and institutions
that have been found to meet the CCE
Standards for Doctor of Chiropractic Programs
and Requirements for Institutional Status.
In addition, Sherman College of Straight
Chiropractic is accredited by the Commission on
Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges
and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur,
Georgia 30033-4097, Telephone number
404-679-4501) to award the doctor of
chiropractic degree.
In related news, Sherman Vice President for
Academic Affairs Laura Chadwick Weeks, D.C., has
been elected for a third term as chairman of the
Commission on Accreditation Executive Committee
of the Council on Chiropractic Education.
