Ivanov Named Faculty Member of the Year at
Sherman
Basic Sciences instructor Max Ivanov, M.D., has
been a favorite at Sherman almost since his
arrival at the college in 1999, but now it’s
official – Ivanov was named Faculty Member of
the Year 2007.
The Faculty Member of the
Year award recognizes a faculty member who is an
excellent instructor; a moral and ethical
inspiration to students and colleagues; a
role-model in working to advance the practice of
subluxation centered chiropractic; and a person
who participates in college events and other
activities outside the classroom that promote
the mission of Sherman College.
Comments on ballots of those voting for Ivanov
included the following: “He is interesting and
passionate about the subjects he teaches,” “He
keeps us focused” and “Dr. Ivanov is really
great at engaging the students in ways that
explain the material.” Students cite Ivanov’s
ability to prepare them well for national board
exams and his willingness to treat them as
colleagues and true graduate students.
Ivanov, a native of Russia, holds an M.D. from
Tver Medical Academy and teaches Cardio
Diagnosis, Physiology Lab, Cardio Physiology and
Fluids. Aside from teaching, Ivanov enjoys
playing basketball, reading books and magazines
and spending time with friends.
