    Collaborative Research

    Research Director Goes West

Dr. Ralph Boone recently returned from a visit to the University of California - Irvine where he

W.R. Boone, Ph.D., D.C. visited southern California from June 5 -9, 2006. During the visit Dr. Boone took time to visit Dr. Steven So, a Sherman College Ambassador, at the University of California, Irvine. He was introduced to Dr. Kim, a professional recruiter interested in working with SCSC to recruit in the Pacific Rim countries. Dr. Boone also completed a paper with Dr So and other colleagues for future publication.

Another stop on the journey included the University of Southern California to meet with Dr. Edmond Jonckheere, Professor of Systems Engineering, Department of Engineering. Sherman College is partially supporting a Ph.D., graduate student in the Department for time dedicated to the development of software and hardware to conduct 3-D motion analyses of set up techniques for adjusting the variety of full spine listings.

Additional information regarding future collaborative study with these two major universities should be forthcoming through the year.

    Helpful Link for Writing

The following link will be helpful for writing research proposals and papers and pertains to APA style writing. Note that chiropractic journals have a different style for citing and listing references, but the rest of the document is "common domain", i.e., when to use apostrophes and proper sentence structure.  http://www.uwsp.edu/psych/apa4b.htm

The next SCHOLAR will be held July 17 in room 38 and the topic will be "Conducting the Literature Search." Knowing how to conduct an effective literature search is an important step when planning your research and other scholarly activity.
