Faculty, Administrators Represent Sherman at ACC/RAC Conference
by Leslie M. Wise, D.C., Dean of Clinical Sciences

A Sherman delegation of 10 faculty and administration members represented the college at the ACC/RAC conference in Las Vegas, NV, March 10-14, 2004.

The Association of Chiropractic Colleges merged its annual educational conference with the Research Agenda Conference in 2002, and the two have been concurrent since then.

Sherman College President Jerry Hardee, Ed.D., met with other chiropractic college presidents in three days of sessions to share common concerns. Researchers in the chiropractic realm presented the latest information regarding clinical research in the profession. Educators shared information on teaching, assessment and clinical training.

Leslie Wise, D.C., and Joy Gayler, Sherman faculty members, gave a presentation on “Assessing Clinical Competencies.”

The theme for the conference was “Best Practices.” Several panels and speakers addressed the notion of establishing guidelines for clinical practice.
