 Hardee Throws First Pitch

President Jerry L. Hardee, Ed.D., threw out the first pitch at the Spartanburg Stingers’ game against Thomasville on Wednesday night, July 21. Several Sherman students also came out to watch the game and support the local team.

The Stingers are part of the Coastal Plain League, a summer college baseball league which began play in 1997. According to the Stingers web site, the league provides top-notch instruction and playing conditions and “offers a premier developmental environment for college players hoping to hone their skills and display their talents during the summer.” In 1999, the CPL received official certification from the NCAA and Major League Baseball.
