Accreditation from CCE --------------------------------------------------------- |
|
| |
The Commission on Accreditation (COA) of the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE)
notified Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic on January 14, 2005, that it
had reaffirmed accreditation of the doctor of chiropractic degree program. As
such, the doctor of chiropractic degree program of Sherman College of Straight
Chiropractic is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Council on
Chiropractic Education, 8049 North 85th Way, Scottsdale, AZ, 85258-4321, Tel:
(480) 443-8877.
“Reaffirmation is the result of much hard work and dedication by faculty, staff,
administrators, students and the many supporters of Sherman College,” says
Sherman President Jerry L. Hardee, Ed.D. “We are pleased that our efforts have
been acknowledged through the reaffirmation of accreditation.”
The reaffirmation process includes the college’s continuous assessment of
program outcomes to determine its effectiveness in relation to its mission,
goals and objectives. Accreditation is a status granted by the COA/CCE to doctor
of chiropractic degree programs and institutions that have been found to meet
the CCE Standards for Doctor of Chiropractic Programs and Requirements for
Institutional Status.
In addition, Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic is accredited by the
Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866
Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097, Telephone number 404-679-4501) to
award the doctor of chiropractic degree.
In related news, Sherman Vice President for Academic Affairs Laura Chadwick
Weeks, D.C., has been elected for a third term as chairman of the Commission on
Accreditation Executive Committee of the Council on Chiropractic Education.
