Dee Dee Brown |
Fourth-quarter Sherman
student Dee Dee Brown joined seven fellow Spartanburg college students for an
evening of poetry and essays when she participated in the 2nd Annual College
Town Reading on Sunday, April 24, at Wofford College.
Brown holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from South Carolina State
University. Originally from Florida, She enjoys reading, cooking and writing
short stories and poetry.
Other participating students included Converse College student Amy Stahl,
Spartanburg Technical College students Amber Jennings and Regina Tucker Schmitt,
University of South Carolina Upstate students Adam Manwaring and Nichole Sise,
and Wofford College students Emily Smith and Kelly Mohon.
College Town is a consortium of Spartanburg County’s six colleges – Converse
College, Sherman College, Spartanburg Methodist College, Spartanburg Technical
College, the University of South Carolina Upstate and Wofford College – and the
City of Spartanburg. The consortium produce academic, social and service events
designed to strengthen the relationships of the campuses and the community. |
