Mark your calendars
now for the Fall Lyceum, featuring the International Research and Philosophy
Symposium (IRAPS), November 3-5 at Sherman College. This year’s conference has
been expanded to include a valuable professional success program along with
scholarly research and philosophy presentations on the topic of adaptation.
Philosophical papers will discuss specific ramifications of the adaptive process
while research presentations will discuss the impact of vertebral subluxation
and its correction as it relates to adaptability.
Keynote speaker for IRAPS is Bruce Lipton, Ph.D., an internationally recognized
authority in bridging science and philosophy. Lipton’s enthusiasm and passion
for science is evident in his presentations. He has been a guest speaker on
dozens of television and radio shows, as well as keynote presenter for national
conferences. Lipton began his scientific career as a cell biologist and received
his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia at Charlottesville. He is regarded as
one of the leading voices of the new biology. Lipton will present a five-hour
lecture on “The Physics and Biology of Adaptation.”
Featured speaker Yvonne Villanueva-Russell, Ph.D., received her doctorate in
sociology from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2002. Her dissertation
dealt with the contradictions of professionalism and entrepreneurialism in the
history of chiropractic. Villanueva-Russell is currently an assistant professor
of sociology at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Her research interests include
the professionalization of alternative medicine, the implications of
evidence-based medicine, and the historical emergence of entrepreneurial
orientations in health care. Her presentation is titled, “From Above Down,
Inside Out: Adaptation and Professional Identity.”
Success speakers include three dynamic lecturers and management consultants.
Shawn Powers, D.C., is founder of Powersource Coaching. Dennis Perman, D.C., is
co-founder of a new club for 21st Century Chiropractors called The Masters. Tony
Palermo, D.C., is founder of Get Back to Basics and The D.C. Personal Coaching
