Wow! It’s hard to believe that Lyceum 2007: Mission Possible will be here in three months! Have you made your plans to be at Sherman for this outstanding annual event? I hope so, for we’re looking forward to having you experience all the great activities we have planned.

We’ve made some changes to the schedule that we’d like to point out. First, we have added daytime plenary sessions to bring everyone together in one place. They’ll be offered mid-day on Thursday and Friday under the Big Top from two lay-advocates of the chiropractic profession. Bill Esteb, founder and creative director of Patient Media Inc., presents The Biggest Subluxation in Chiropractic. Learn a simple patient communication strategy that will help you locate and reduce the biggest subluxation in your patient relationships. Yvonne Villanueva-Russell, assistant professor of sociology at Texas A & M University-Commerce, presents Chiropractic: Swimming with the Sharks. Russell will discuss the importance of retaining a unique philosophy in a “system of professions” and the challenges to doing so.

The second change we’ve made reflects our commitment and appreciation to you. We’ll have a welcome-back barbecue on Thursday right before the evening program. To show our Southern hospitality, the college will welcome everyone to Lyceum with a delicious Southern barbecue and great music on Thursday before the evening Big Top session. You won’t have to rush out around to get dinner, but rather can enjoy great food in a relaxed atmosphere. Bring the family and enjoy catching up with friends and mingling with colleagues while feasting on great food and listening to a live bluegrass band.

Finally, take a good look at the schedule this year because we offer you more time to socialize and network with fellow chiropractors in attendance. As always, we will provide fun alumni events, informative CE seminars and outstanding motivational speakers for the evening Big Top sessions. For more information about Lyceum 2007, Mission Possible, log on to www.sherman.edu/lycuem or watch for the brochure in your mailbox in March. If you haven’t done so yet, make plans now to attend this year’s Lyceum, May 24-27. I hope to see you there!
