Alumni to Represent Sherman at Erskine, Warren Wilson Presidential Inaugurations

Susan Newlin
Senior Development Officer

Throughout the year, Sherman College receives numerous invitations to participate in the inauguration of college and university presidents nationwide. Since it is not always possible for someone from the college to attend, we look to our alumni for assistance.

Glenn Stachurski, D.C., ’84, will represent Sherman College at the inauguration of Randall T. Ruble, the 14th president of Erskine College and Theological Seminary on April 12, 2007, in Due West, SC. Simon Senzon, M.A., D.C., ’99, will represent Sherman at the inauguration of William Sanborn Pfeiffer as the sixth president of Warren Wilson College on April 28 in Asheville, NC.

“It’s a win-win for both the college and the alumni who represent Sherman at these ceremonies,” said Senior Development Officer Susan Newlin, the person responsible for arranging these partnerships. “It is a great way for alumni to be engaged with the college,” added Newlin, who is looking for new ways to keep alumni connected with their alma mater.

Additional benefits to these partnerships include giving Sherman College a presence at these prestigious academic ceremonies and allowing alumni the opportunity to meet leaders in higher education and in their communities.
