On April 2, Sherman College welcomed the spring 2007 class during new student
orientation. Students were first greeted by LaShanda Hutto, our dean of student
affairs, and then introduced to Thom Gelardi, D.C., interim president and
founder of Sherman College, who congratulated them on their success in
acceptance into the doctor of chiropractic program.
Bob Irwin, D.C., vice president for enrollment services, also extended a warm
welcome to the group, and Myron Brown, D.C., executive vice president and
provost, spent a few minutes addressing the students and reminded them that they
would be seeing him all quarter as their philosophy instructor.
Several of the new students brought along spouses, friends and family members to
join them on their first day. The students and their guests spent the day
learning about each other and Sherman College, received their schedule of
classes and their new college IDs, and toured the campus. They ended the day
with a BBQ, served by college staff and administration.
The class of 13 new students represents seven different states and three foreign
countries, including Vietnam, Trinidad and Zimbabwe.
We look forward to watching these new students and working with them as they
progress through the chiropractic curriculum, and in three and a half years,
graduating them as doctors of chiropractic and leaders in bringing straight
chiropractic to the world!
