Bringing Straight Chiropractic to the World
with Dr. Ryoji Kiyokawa
by Faculty Member Perry Rush, D.C.

Translator Ms. Yukie, Dr. Ryoji Kiyokawa and Dr. Perry Rush in the Sherman bookstore.
Through Sherman’s International Outreach program, I made a presentation about the Blair technique in Tokyo, Japan, for a group of 80 Japanese chiropractors last year. The presentation was recorded and made available on DVD to others in Japan.
Dr. Ryoji Kiyokawa was one of the Japanese chiropractors who viewed the DVD and developed a strong interest in learning more about this work, so much so that he made a visit to Sherman College recently.
Dr. Kiyokawa secured the services of a local translator for his visit. While he was here, he not only toured the campus and our digital x-ray facilities, but we engaged in a good discussion about the Blair material. He also observed Blair adjustments in our Chiropractic Health Center on campus.
Dr. Kiokawa visited the Brown House Museum with Dr. John Hart and visited with Dr. Schwartzbauer to talk about the possibility of enrolling at Sherman. Having a visitor from another country is always enjoyable, and it helps us learn how better to fulfill our mission of bringing straight chiropractic to the world. |
