South Carolina Marks October 2011 as Spinal Health Month
Recognizing the positive impact of chiropractic in the lives of her state’s citizens
and appreciating the value of more than 1,100 doctors practicing in the state,
South Carolina Governor Nikki R. Haley proclaimed October 2011 as Spinal Health
Month.
Sherman President Jon Schwartzbauer, D.C., and South Carolina Chiropractic Association
(SCCA) President Joe Carew, D.C., along with Tyrone Wallace, D.C., of Florence
and Don Worley, D.C., of Clinton, were in attendance at the Governor’s official
proclamation at the State House on October 25. The SCCA is a private professional
association representing nearly 500 doctors of chiropractic in active practice
in South Carolina.

During Spinal Health Month, South Carolina citizens were encouraged to talk to
a local doctor of chiropractic about natural ways to improve spinal health and
enhance overall well being through chiropractic care.

Gov. Hailey (r) reads the proclamation to (l-r) Drs. Carew, Wallace, Schwartzbauer
and Worley.
“I was proud to represent Sherman College and chiropractic at Governor Haley’s
proclamation of October as Spinal Health Month,” said Schwartzbauer. “We appreciate
the SCCA’s initiative to increase awareness of spinal health in South Carolina,
and we were happy to support them.”
