Support Students

Do you remember what it was like to be a chiropractic student? Would you like to encourage and support our students’ hard work and dedication?

If you seek the most direct way to support a student’s education at Sherman College, consider giving to one of our scholarship funds. If you prefer to send a check rather than donate online, you can download our scholarship support form or Student Emergency Fund form and mail it in with your donation.

Wise Scholars Endowment

The legacy of the late Dr. Leslie Wise will continue to impact students for years to come through the Wise Scholars Endowment. Wise had taught or interacted with every student who walked the halls of Sherman College from 1974-2018. This scholarship honors students’ commitment to service and leadership, traits that were hallmarks of Dr. Wise’s life of service to Sherman and the profession.

John H. Porter, Jr. Scholarship

Named in honor of long-time Sherman College faculty member and 1979 graduate, this recently established scholarship supports students who have chosen to make a profound difference through the chiropractic profession, easing their financial burdens and allowing them to pursue careers of service like Dr. Porter.
Student Charles Tucker

When I found out I would be the first recipient of the John Porter Scholarship, I was both thrilled and proud. Dr. Porter has done so much for Sherman College, the city of Spartanburg, and our profession. Dr. Porter knocked down doors early on so that students like me don’t have to along our chiropractic journey. The John Porter Scholarship not only helped me financially for school, but it motivated me to excel in this profession no matter what obstacles get in my way.
