On April 18, Tie Dye Day added some color to our campus! Above, you see faculty (Dr. Bobby Findley), staff (Roberta Wood and Angela Thrift), and student (Lita Robison) represented and blended beautifully. Events like Tie Dye Day, Favorite Sci-Fi Character Day, Sports Team Day, etc., are a great way to build camaraderie among students and give them fun ideas for their future practices. |

President's Assembly Speaker Offers Advice for Students Wishing to Become Highly Successful in Life |
|
|
On April 16, Sherman College held a President's Assembly in the Gelardi Student Center, inviting all students, faculty, and staff to attend a presentation by Grant Lisetor, DC, CACCP, CSSPP. Dr. Lisetor, who owns a practice near Charlotte, NC, generously shared some solid advice with current students interested in becoming highly successful not just in chiropractic, but in all aspects of life. His top five pieces of advice were as follows: - Work harder than anyone else - Find a mentor - Be careful who you allow into your inner circle - Be loyal to a fault - Become an excellent communicator
Dr. Lisetor's final instruction to students was to write this down: "I don't get what I want, I get what I'm deeply committed to." He provided a wealth of knowledge from his own experiences and even had a list of recommended books that have inspired him. Several students stayed to thank him and talk with Dr. Lisetor. |

Dr. Grant Lisetor and Sherman College President, Dr. Jack Bourla were all smiles after an encouraging presentation. Below, left: Dr. Lisetor with Sherman student Maggie Mehaffey - he is her mentor. Below, right: Dr. Lisetor in action on stage. |

On April 16, the Sherman College Alumni Association held a tree dedication for the late Dr. Anthony Duke, a cherished colleague and esteemed professor affectionately nicknamed "Duke University" by his students. The Blazing Maple tree was planted last year, and a new plaque honoring Dr. Duke was unveiled at the dedication last week.
Faculty, staff, and students remembered Dr. Duke's years of service to Sherman, his academic brilliance, devotion to students, and his love for horticulture, as evidenced by the many trees he lovingly planted on campus over the years. |
