Lyceum 2024: We Had it All! |
|
|
This year's Lyceum, which was held from May 2-4, was a whirlwind of reunions, education, entertainment, and connections. As you can see in the photo above, there was a mix of faculty, staff, students, alumni, friends of Sherman, AND the founder himself, Dr. Thom Gelardi in attendance. The weather was a mix of sunshine and some light rain, but nothing dampened the high spirits. Director of Continuing Education and Lyceum Rozelle Foster offers her gratitude saying, “I'm truly delighted by the overwhelming flood of positive feedback we've received, particularly from our attendees. Knowing that everyone had such an incredible time at Lyceum 2024 makes all the hard work worthwhile. While we celebrate our successes, we also recognize the areas where improvement, correction, and change are needed. Rest assured; we're committed to addressing these aspects to ensure future Lyceums are even more remarkable.
A heartfelt thank you to our employee volunteers; your dedication and support were indispensable in making this event a reality. Your contributions did not go unnoticed, and the CE department is immensely grateful for your efforts. The success of Lyceum 2024 would not have been possible without each and every one of you. As we conclude this year’s annual homecoming, I eagerly anticipate what Lyceum 2025 will bring.” |

Dr. Bourla Reflects on The Berkshire Experience 2024 |
"Dr. Scott Garber once again outdid himself in putting on a fantastic conference in Mexico on April 18-20, 2024. For many years, Dr. Garber has been successfully organizing the Berkshire Experience, a conference that strictly adheres to the chiropractic philosophy, science and art. This year, he felt it was important to bridge the international gap and chose to bring the Berkshire Experience to Latin America.
Dr. Garber's impeccable organizing skills and desire to make a global impact resulted in a weekend of incredible content, fellowship, and just plain fun. Speakers from the US, Mexico, South America and Europe provided attendees with valuable chiropractic lectures. Dr. Garber covered the cost of the event, and he donated all proceeds to Sherman College of Chiropractic.
A highlight of the weekend was when all attendees sang “Happy Birthday” to Dr. Thom Gelardi, founder of Sherman College. While Dr. Gelardi was not in attendance, nearly 300 people sang in unison in both Spanish and English, led by Dr. Liam Schubel and his operatic voice. The chorus was videoed and a copy was immediately sent to Dr. Gelardi to let him know how much we all appreciate him. View the Birthday Song video here.

A few other noteworthy items that came from the weekend included great relationships established between Sherman College and two of the Universities with whom academic agreements will be penned, allowing student/faculty exchange and curriculum sharing to better all campuses. The list of international speakers (all of whom paid for their travel costs out of their own pockets) was long and noteworthy, as listed below. All speakers support Sherman, even though very few attended Sherman as students. This shows the impact that Sherman makes on the chiropractic profession… non-Sherman students graduate and come to support Sherman in its vision to change the world through chiropractic.
We would be remiss if we didn’t recognize Drs. Octavio Terrazas (a Sherman graduate) and Aram Gomez for their incredible support in making the Berkshires Experience-Mexico an enormous success. Watch for Berkshires Experience-Mexico 2025 coming soon!!!" |
