Dr. Shannon Martin Featured in Shoutout South Carolina |
Dr. Shannon Finnerty Martin, Sherman's assistant professor of clinical sciences and Chiropractic Center case doctor, was recently featured in an online publication, Shoutout South Carolina, where she shared her journey of being a doctor of chiropractic, an educator, a mom and an entrepreneur. |
| |
“I am a Doctor of Chiropractic, an assistant professor at Sherman College of Chiropractic, and an entrepreneur. In addition to teaching full-time, I practice part-time in a private home practice in the evenings and teach continuing education seminars to doctors and students several weekends each year,” explained Dr. Martin. “I absolutely love teaching and mentoring the future generation of chiropractors because I feel that I make the largest impact on the future of healthcare by mentoring the future doctors of the world. Having been a partner in a high-volume wellness and pediatric practice near Atlanta for several years, as well as having run the Chronic Disease Reversal Program there, I bring a wealth of real-world experience to share with future practitioners in the aspects of practice, marketing, and business.”

Guest Speaker brings Real-Word Experience to the Classroom |
Guest speakers enrich chiropractic classes by offering real-world insights and diverse perspectives. This was undoubtedly the case recently in Dr. Allie Hamstead's (left) perinatal care and management elective course, which is part of the college's new pediatric and perinatal concentration. Hamstead, Sherman’s assistant professor of clinical sciences, welcomed Dr. Lydia Glass, PT, DPT (right), with Body Works Women’s Health & Wellness for a stimulating discussion about pelvic floor physical therapy as part of pregnancy and postpartum care. Dr. Glass discussed her work with Upstate women, highlighting the importance of collaborating with chiropractors for referrals and providing effective care for expectant and new mothers.
