Sherman Represented at the PSCA Fall 2024 Conference |
|
|
Sherman College of Chiropractic was well-represented at the Palmetto State Chiropractic Association’s fall conference on September 7-8 in Columbia, SC. Over 50 attendees earned 18 hours of continuing education ahead of the biennial chiropractic license renewal at the end of September.
Sherman faculty members presenting included Dr. Sarah Hock, associate professor of clinical sciences, Chiropractic Center case doctor and chair of Sherman's Pediatrics and Perinatal Care concentration; Dr. Christopher Kent, director of global presidential initiatives; Dr. George Auger, assistant professor of clinical sciences; and Dr. Matt McCoy, Sherman board of trustee member. Additional members of the Sherman community attended, including President Dr. Jack Bourla, Chiropractic Center Case Doctor Dr. Bobby Findley, Professor of Philosophy Dr. Bill Decken, and Development Coordinator Dr. Russell Goff.
Sherman College is a proud sponsor of the PSCA, which includes members who are "dedicated people safeguarding our profession so that you can practice in the time-tested, science-proven, philosophically sound practice model of subluxation care for subluxation remediation alone."

A Look Back ~ September 18, 1895 |
Harvey Lillard worked as a janitor in the building where DD Palmer had a magnetic healing practice. On September 18, 1895, Lillard informed Palmer that 17 years earlier, while he was bent over in a cramped space, he felt his spine “pop,” and not long after, his hearing completely disappeared.
Convinced the two events were linked, DD Palmer asked if he could examine Lillard’s spine. He noticed a bump on Lillard’s spine, and after moving it back toward normal alignment, Lillard’s hearing was immediately restored.
This moment sparked DD Palmer’s lifelong passion for chiropractic and his son’s (BJ Palmer) devotion to the profession. Thanks to this visionary father-son team, chiropractic has become a profession devoted to helping others live healthy, subluxation-free lives. |
