In a powerful demonstration of collaboration and support for principled chiropractic, ChiroFutures Malpractice Insurance Program, alongside McCoy Press and the Foundation for Vertebral Subluxation (FVS), is making a significant impact at Sherman College’s International Research and Philosophy Symposium (IRAPS) during Lyceum 2025.
This partnership not only highlights the growing momentum behind subluxation-centered research but also aligns directly with Sherman College’s mission to lead the profession through evidence-informed philosophy and academic excellence.
$5,000 Research and Scholarship Awards Program Launched
At the heart of this initiative is a new $5,000 Research and Scholarship Awards Program fully funded by ChiroFutures. Designed to recognize the top presentations delivered during IRAPS, the program will celebrate both scientific rigor and philosophical depth—core components of Sherman’s academic identity.
Coordinated by Dr. Alan Brewster, Director of Scholarly Activity, the awards will be distributed across multiple categories, encouraging broad participation from students, faculty, and practicing chiropractors. Presentations will be evaluated on research excellence, alignment with chiropractic principles—particularly vertebral subluxation—and the strength of philosophical insight.
McCoy Press and FVS Expand Resources and Reach at IRAPS
Joining ChiroFutures in championing the future of chiropractic are McCoy Press and the Foundation for Vertebral Subluxation. McCoy Press, known for publishing peer-reviewed journals dedicated to chiropractic science and philosophy, will be available at IRAPS to guide presenters through the publication process—from manuscript development to submission.
Meanwhile, the Foundation for Vertebral Subluxation, led by new Executive Director Dr. Anquonette Stiles, will offer insights into the Foundation’s research support services. These include IRB assistance, proposal development, and mentoring through the FVS Fellowship program. Sherman College’s own FVS Fellows will also present during IRAPS, offering a firsthand look at research in action.
Live Engagement and Continuing Education at Lyceum
In addition to sponsoring the awards, ChiroFutures will maintain a strong presence throughout Lyceum, engaging attendees at their booth and presenting continuing education sessions. Co-Founder Dr. Matthew McCoy will deliver two talks:
"Triage in the New Era of Chiropractic" (Lyceum CE presentation)
A policy discussion at IRAPS focused on licensure testing reform and the challenges it poses for chiropractic’s future.
These sessions echo Sherman’s commitment to shaping a more supportive regulatory and academic landscape for the profession.
Strategic Support for Sherman’s Research Mission
This joint effort between ChiroFutures, McCoy Press, and the FVS represents more than just sponsorship—it’s a strategic alignment with Sherman College’s expanding research infrastructure. By investing in IRAPS and engaging directly with scholars, these partners are helping advance a new era of chiropractic thought rooted in the philosophy and science of vertebral subluxation.
Their involvement supports Sherman’s Center for Scholarly Activity and helps cultivate the next generation of chiropractic educators, researchers, and leaders.
