IRAPS Plenary Speaker

Did you know that the International Research and Philosophy Symposium (IRAPS) is now a feature of Lyceum?  Our favorite part about this new format is when both Lyceum and IRAPS participants come together at the day's featured plenary speaker.

We're excited to announce Dr. Amy Haas as the IRAPS x Lyceum plenary speaker on Saturday, May 4, 2023. Dr. Amy is a New England native and after completing her Ph.D. in biochemistry, she also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Pathology at Harvard Medical School in Boston.  She then accepted a position as a Research Scientist / Enzymologist at a small biotech in Beverly, MA, unaware that the entire trajectory of her life was about to shift, leading her to chiropractic.

Dr. Amy is active in the chiropractic research community and will be sharing recent work with all in attendance at IRAPS x Lyceum. Join us all weekend for Lyceum, or just for IRAPS to renew your passion for chiropractic while learning new things to enhance the care you provide your community.

Student Ambassador Highlight

Alexandra D.

Hometown: Panama City, Panama

Education: Purdue University – Human Development
Activities/Hobbies: dancing, finding new restaurants as a foodie, traveling
Why chiropractic? I grew up very passionate about chiropractic since both my parents are chiropractors and found love for children so I hope I can promote the message of health to all kids and families.
Favorite thing about the Upstate Region: I can't pick - I have so many favorites!

Student Ambassadors welcome prospective students to campus at the college's Showcase Sherman Weekend and weekly tours. Alexandra looks forward to welcoming all students referred to Sherman College for their chiropractic education!

Regent Spotlight

Meet Dr. Christine Zapata, founder of Emerald City Spinal Care in Seattle, WA. Dr. Zapata is known for her generosity in her community - something she has also extended to Sherman College. She has been a Regent since 2020 and supports Sherman students directly though the "Sponsor an Intern" program where clinic fees are offset by donations. Her most recent act of kindness is the sponsorship of 10 students from Sherman College's Blair Club to attend the Blair annual conference in Charlotte, NC. We're grateful for her support and commitment to Sherman College!

We Appreciate Our Corporate Regents
