Greetings *{{First Name}}*!

We realized after we hit the send button earlier, that one of our links wasn't working properly. Don't fret! Dr. Dooley's vision for our Health Center is now correctly linked in the article below.

We're sorry for the extra mail today, but we're super grateful you're here. We hope you can forgive us for this one!

Lyceum Q&A with Rozelle Foster - Director of CE

The countdown is on - there's ONLY six weeks until
Lyceum 2023: Building Upon a Legacy! Rozelle Foster, Director of Continuing Education, and her team are excited to be putting together this year’s 50th Lyceum celebration for all our guest
s. Here are some pro tips from Rozelle if it's your first time, or it's been a while since you've joined us.

When should I arrive for Lyceum?

Sessions run daily from 8am - 6:15pm and your first time to campus for the weekend you'll need to swing by registration to grab your welcome packet and credentials. We recommend building in 30 minutes for packet pick up as to not miss any CE credit if there's a long line. If you’re registered as a DC One Day Only, you’ll arrive the morning of the day you’re wanting to attend.

What do we do for lunch?

There's private lunches each day that requires an RSVP with your Lyceum Registration. We also have a variety of local vendors under our lunch tent. If you'd like to go back and add one (or more!) lunch RSVPs to your registration, we still have room at some of these great events:

Thursday 5/4: Scholarship Luncheon ($100 Tax-Deductible Donation per attendee where all proceeds go to Wise Scholars Scholarship)
Friday 5/5: Annual Alumni Association Meeting (Free for Paid Assoc. Members)
Saturday 5/6: Annual ROAR Luncheon (Free for ROAR Members)

Are there any social activities at Lyceum, if so, where can I find them?

We do have additional evening events each night and those can be viewed
on the website under “Special Events.”

Can I see the full schedule ahead of time?

Absolutely! Click here to view speakers and session times to get an idea of what class you might want to attend, and when it is. If you're asking me what sessions I wouldn't miss, it'd be our daily plenary sessions that feature Drs. Shawn Dill and Amy Haas as well as inspirational speaker, David Meltzer. To see what sessions are approved in your state of licensure, check CE approval statuses here.

Where do attendees stay when they come for the event?

Our block of rooms at the Spartanburg Marriott Hotel is booking up quickly and availability is now very limited. Details and the Marriott contact info can be found here or for alternative accommodation suggestions, please contact me directly at rfoster@sherman.edu.

When will there be time for networking?

The ENTIRE event is a great networking opportunity! We have two break times each day, that provides the opportunity to connect with colleagues and visit with vendors. I think the best time for networking is at our evening events.

Jacob Lane

12th Quarter Intern

Hometown: Palestine, TX

Intern of the Month Spotlight: Jacob Lane

Each month, Health Center case doctors meet to determine which student intern is performing exceptionally well. We're happy to announce that Jacob Lane has been named Intern of the Month for February 2023!

According to his faculty case doctors, Drs. Gwen Gardner and Tim Guest, '86, Jacob is incredibly polite and treats patients, fellow interns, staff, and case doctors with a great amount of respect.

"His documentation is excellent, and he never has to be reminded that his care plans are expiring," said Dr. Gwen Gardner.  She went on to say "he is dedicated to the craft of technique and is confident with knowing when and when not to adjust."

Our Health Center Vision with Dr. Dooley

Did you know Spartanburg is the fifth largest county in South Carolina, with a population estimated at 310,000? What exactly does this mean for Sherman College? We have a HUGE community to serve at our top-notch, cutting-edge Health Center and we want everyone to achieve their maximum health and performance potential.

Dean of Clinics, Dr. Brian Dooley '05, recently shared his vision for our Health Center and explained the advantage that our students have using the state-of-the-art facility with the most updated technologies. Although we have dipped our toes into the community by helping to care for those who have come to us, we look forward to reaching all the others who have yet to know the true treasure that exists - the Sherman College Health Center, right here in Spartanburg.

As our Health Center looks to the future they are eager to partner with our community more to help them to live fuller lives with chiropractic care. Collectively, our case doctors have over a hundred years of experience and provide the surrounding community safe and efficient plans of care. As many of us know, being a chiropractor is more than a job, it gives us a sense of purpose and we want to be that purpose for our community!
