Exploring Tonal Techniques:
A Deeper Dive into Subluxation

Dr. Shannon Martin recently led an engaging presentation at Sherman College titled More than MOPI: How Various Tonal Techniques View Subluxation. This special session brought together student leaders and attendees from the TRT (Torque Release Technique), BGI (Bio-Geometric Integration), and NetworkSpinal Clubs for a collaborative and insightful exploration of tonal chiropractic approaches.

Rooted in Sherman’s commitment to honoring the philosophy, science, and art of chiropractic, the event encouraged students to expand their perspectives on subluxation. By examining how different tonal techniques interpret and interact with the nervous system, participants gained a more nuanced and holistic understanding of the body’s innate potential to heal from Above-Down, Inside-Out.

From thought-provoking discussion to hands-on learning, the event was a powerful reminder of the diversity within chiropractic and the importance of continued inquiry and dialogue.

Tonal Tuesday proved to be much more than a hashtag—it was a celebration of the depth and dynamic spirit of Sherman’s chiropractic community.

Exploring a New Resource for Students and Alumni: Office of Chiropractic Practice
Excellence and Support

Sherman College is currently assessing the need for a new initiative—the Office of Chiropractic Practice Excellence and Support—with the goal of equipping our students and graduates for long-term success in the field.

To inform this effort, Sherman students and alumni were recently invited via email to participate in a brief SurveyMonkey questionnaire. Their insights will help shape how this office can best support career development, practice readiness, mentorship opportunities, and continued professional growth.

If you're a current student or graduate and have not yet responded, please check your email or access the survey directly here.

The deadline to submit feedback is Friday, June 27, 2025.

We appreciate the support of our entire community—faculty, staff, donors, and friends—as we continue building programs that uphold our mission and prepare Sherman chiropractors to lead with excellence.

Sherman College Heads to Puerto Rico
for Summer Recruitment Events

Sherman College of Chiropractic is hosting two recruitment events in Puerto Rico in June. These events provide an excellent opportunity for prospective students to meet members of the admissions team, ask questions, and learn more about a rewarding career in chiropractic.

The first event will be held on Wednesday, June 18, at the Aloft Hotel in Ponce, followed by a second event on Friday, June 20, at the Campo Bravo Restaurant at Rio Bayamon Golf Club. Both sessions run from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and include light refreshments.

These in-person events are part of Sherman’s ongoing commitment to building connections in diverse communities and welcoming students from across the globe. Sherman has a strong tradition of supporting Puerto Rican students, and we’re excited to continue fostering interest in chiropractic education throughout the island.

If you know someone in Puerto Rico who is curious about chiropractic or considering their next step in education, we invite you to share this opportunity with them. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

To reserve a spot or learn more, please contact Rolando Rivera at rrivera@sherman.edu or call (787) 603-0493.
