Showcase Sherman Weekend: Big Energy. Real Connections. Bright Futures. |
|
|
There’s something special that happens when future chiropractors step onto our campus—and this past Showcase Sherman Weekend was no exception. We welcomed 52 prospective students and 56 of their guests, and over the course of two days, lives were shifted, friendships sparked, and a whole lot of hearts left feeling inspired.
Showcase Sherman Weekend is more than just an open house. It’s a hands-on, full-sensory introduction to what it means to study chiropractic at Sherman. Guests get a feel for our campus culture, connect with our incredible faculty, hear from leadership, try their hands at palpation and toggling, and even explore the cadaver lab. And yes—there’s plenty of good food and fun woven in, too.
This time, we had the joy of hosting 13 bright and enthusiastic prospective students from Puerto Rico. A big thank you to Rolando Rivera for accompanying them and helping them settle into the rhythm of South Carolina life. Two attendees were referred by Dr. Irene Gold—her niece and great nephew. We’re proud to share that her great nephew will be joining Sherman this fall. Thank you, Dr. Gold, for continuing to support and strengthen our community! Several ChiroKids were also in attendance, carrying forward a family tradition with pride. Their parents shared heartfelt, positive feedback, and we were honored to be part of that next chapter in their story.
If you know someone who’s thinking about a future in chiropractic, now’s the time to connect them with Sherman. Whether they attend an upcoming Showcase Sherman Weekend or join us for a Monday or Friday campus tour, they’ll be welcomed with open arms. Contact our Admissions team at 800-849-8771 ext. 760 or email ROAR@sherman.edut to get started. We’d love to help them discover their purpose here.

| In Memory of Dr. Donald Kenneth McCleary, ’83
|
Humble in heart. Steadfast in purpose. Deeply missed. |
|
|
Sherman College of Chiropractic extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Dr. Donald Kenneth McCleary, who passed away on June 17, 2025.
A summa cum laude graduate of the December 1983 class, Dr. McCleary’s devotion to principled chiropractic care was matched only by his humility and compassion. His legacy spans continents, from his early days practicing in Murray Bridge, South Australia, to his decades of service in Queensland, the Sunshine Coast, and remote regions like Kununurra in the East Kimberley. Whether in bustling towns or the vast Australian Outback, he provided care to countless families—many across multiple generations.
Dr. McCleary also proudly served on the Queensland Board of the Australian Chiropractors Association and played a role in bringing Sherman’s founding vision to new audiences by organizing talks with Drs. Thom and Betty Gelardi.
Don was not only a dedicated doctor but also a beloved husband, father of four, and lifelong learner. His daughter Aimee McCleary lovingly shared that his strength, wisdom, and gentle ways will continue to inspire all who knew him. Dr. McCleary will be remembered by the Sherman community with deep respect and affection for a life spent serving others with integrity and grace.
You can read the full tribute written by his daughter Aimee on the Sherman blog. |
