Celebrating Sherman’s Continued Support of Oklahaven |
|
|
Sherman College of Chiropractic was honored to receive the 2025 Have-A-Heart Award from Oklahaven Children’s Chiropractic Center, marking our fourth consecutive year earning this special recognition for raising awareness and support for pediatric chiropractic care.
The award ceremony took place on Thursday, September 4, in the Gelardi Event Space, with a special appearance by Dr. Bobby Doscher, founder of Oklahaven. Members of the Sherman community gathered to celebrate the campaign’s success and recognize the collective efforts of students, faculty, and staff.
Held during Valentine’s Week 2025, the Have-A-Heart Campaign united Shermies in a shared mission to highlight the healing power of chiropractic care for children. The award is a reflection of Sherman’s continued commitment to service and to the core chiropractic principle of helping the body heal from the inside out.
Sherman College is proud to stand with Oklahaven in its mission and grateful to everyone who participated in this year’s campaign. |

Sherman Hosts Kaleidoscope Collective for Engaging Campus Visit |
|
|
Sherman College welcomed a group of curious and enthusiastic young learners from the Kaleidoscope Collective Home School group for a special campus visit on Monday, September 8. The visit, held in the Gelardi Event Space, provided a dynamic introduction to chiropractic, the human body, and college life at Sherman.
The morning kicked off with President Dr. Jack Bourla, who offered a warm welcome and shared an overview of Sherman College’s mission, setting an inspiring tone for the rest of the day.
Following the opening, Dr. Allie Hamstead led an engaging session on “The Human Body and Its Systems,” walking students through how various systems work together to maintain health. Using age-appropriate language and visuals, she helped connect science to real-life wellness.
Next, Drs. Shannon Joy and Sarah Hock presented “The Importance of Chiropractic Care,” introducing the group to how chiropractic care supports the nervous system and contributes to overall health. Their relatable examples helped the students understand chiropractic through the lens of daily function and development.
As one of Sherman’s newest faculty members and a recent graduate, Dr. Tara Levesque shared her chiropractic journey, giving students a look into both the educational experience and professional opportunities in the field. As a homeschool parent herself, she also offered a valuable personal perspective that resonated with many families in attendance.
The visit concluded with a campus tour led by Dr. Armand Rossi, with support from Roberta Thomas-Wood, highlighting key areas of campus life and providing the group a behind-the-scenes look at student spaces and clinical facilities.
To round out the day, students received goody bags that included Chiropractic Health Center brochures and educational takeaways—extending the experience beyond the visit itself. Sherman College is proud to provide meaningful educational outreach and remains committed to inspiring the next generation of learners. We extend our sincere thanks to all faculty and staff who contributed to creating such a thoughtful and engaging experience for the Kaleidoscope Collective.
