Connecting Chiropractic to Our Local Community |
Sherman College is dedicated to spreading the message of chiropractic care worldwide, and it is equally important to share it with our local community. In recent years, we have implemented strategic efforts to better connect with those in our own backyard here in Spartanburg, South Carolina. With this in mind, the Sherman College Chiropractic Center hosted its second annual Trunk or Treat event on Friday, October 27. There was fun aplenty with games and trunks by faculty, employees and students. About 600 children are estimated to have attended the event and enjoyed candy and toys.
In efforts to connect more members of our community with chiropractic, each Trunk or Treat attendee was invited back to Sherman for a pediatric wellness talk on November 14. Skating Through the Holidays, presented by Dr. Sarah Hock will feature tips for parents to help their kids stay stress-free during the holiday season. More events like this and a Spring Egg Hunt are being planned throughout the year.

All Creatures Great and Small: Chiropractic Edition |
Animal chiropractic is a topic that has become increasingly popular on social media, even among those who are not chiropractors. This presents a great opportunity to highlight the importance of chiropractic care, as people are often willing to go to great lengths to ensure the well-being of their beloved pets.
Shannon Ruff, DC, CAC graduated from Sherman in 2018 and started her own practice with animals in mind. She owns Ruff Chiropractic, located in Chesnee, South Carolina where she says, "We provide chiropractic care for anyone with a spine, including animals!"
How did she discover this calling? Dr. Ruff explains, "Lyceum 2015 is when I first heard Dr. Jay Komarek speak passionately about animal chiropractic. That was the day I knew exactly what I was going to do with my life." Visit Ruff Chiropractic's website
