Welcome to 41 New Sherman Students |
We are delighted to introduce the cohort of new students for the fall quarter 2024! On Monday, Oct. 7, the Gelardi Student Center was filled with forty-one smiling DC2Bs at our new student orientation. Despite Hurricane Helene’s significant impact throughout Spartanburg County, which delayed orientation by one week, the spirit of our newest Shermies was unwavering. Kudos to the entire Sherman team, specifically the admissions and student affairs staff, who quickly adapted with a rescheduled plan to warmly welcome our new DC2Bs.

The fall cohort also includes five ROAR students referred to Sherman by ROAR participants, who share Sherman with prospective students, encouraging them to consider Sherman and a chiropractic career. Thank you, ROAR members! |

Sherman College Represented at the UVCA Fall Convention |
Sherman College President Dr. Jack Bourla was the keynote speaker at the Unified Virginia Chiropractic Association’s fall convention in Williamsburg, Virginia, Sept. 20-22, addressing more than 200 doctors of chiropractic and their teams from 78 cities across the Commonwealth. The convention theme, “Connect with History,” brought chiropractic professionals together through an immersive blend of inspirational, clinical, and practice management sessions on the science and principles of chiropractic.
In his keynote address –“Are You Being Impeccable?” – Dr. Bourla challenged DCs to be impeccable in their commitment to serving patients by being bold, masterful, confident and keeping it pure. “No matter our differences, we are all one family, here to ‘change the world’ and ‘find our others’ as we work with the ‘substance of the soul’ and ‘keep it pure but a little crazy.’” He tasked attendees to: |
• Always do things as if Grandma were watching. • Always do things as if your kid were watching. • Under promise, over deliver … honestly. • Communicate as a committed DC. • Never live with regret. • Never forget where you came from.
• Your principles determine your actions, beliefs, and destiny. |
Sherman College was proud to participate in UVCA's convention weekend, which supported the growth and development of chiropractors and advanced the profession's core principles: philosophy, science, and art. For more information, visit https://www.virginiachiropractic.org. |

Sherman Gives Back to Spartanburg's Furry Friends |
The Sherman Staff Council sponsored a donation drive, dropping off much-needed supplies at the Spartanburg Humane Society. It’s all about giving back to our community—both two-legged and four-legged friends! Thank you to the students, faculty and staff who made this possible! |
