The Joint Chiropractic primarily utilizes manual, hands-on spinal adjustments using techniques that are well-established, efficient, and reproducible in a high-volume clinical setting. The most commonly used techniques include:
1. Diversified Technique
This is the primary method used by most chiropractors at The Joint.
It involves high-velocity, low-amplitude (HVLA) thrusts to restore proper movement and alignment of the spine.
It produces the characteristic “popping” or “cracking” sound.
2. Activator Method (sometimes used)
A handheld spring-loaded instrument is used to deliver precise, low-force adjustments.
It’s less common at The Joint but may be used depending on patient preference or specific clinical cases.
3. Gonstead Technique (occasionally)
Focuses on a detailed analysis of spinal misalignments and precise adjustments, particularly of the pelvis and lumbar spine.
Some doctors at The Joint may be trained in and apply Gonstead techniques.
4. Thompson Drop-Table Technique (if equipped)
In clinics equipped with drop tables, adjustments are assisted by sections of the table that drop slightly, reducing the force needed for correction.
This is location-dependent and not uniformly available at all clinics.
5. Toggle Recoil or Upper Cervical Techniques (less common)
Some doctors may have advanced training in cervical-specific methods like Toggle Recoil or Blair, but these are not standard across the franchise.
Notes:
No imaging is performed before treatment at The Joint.
Techniques are chosen based on doctor discretion, patient needs, and the franchise model's efficiency-driven approach.
Patient care at The Joint is generally focused on wellness and maintenance care, rather than intensive rehabilitation or complex diagnostic workups.
