Find Housing for Your Chiropractic School Experience

chiropractic school students looking for housing

Sherman College supports you in finding your home away from home during your chiropractic college experience.

Here at Sherman College, we know it is a big decision to move away from your family and friends to pursue your doctor of chiropractic degree. While undergoing such a rigorous program, it is important to find a way to feel at home here in the Upstate South Carolina area. Finding housing can be one of the most important steps in determining the school that is right for you.

If you have visited our campus, you may have noticed that we do not offer on-campus housing. The reasoning for this is simple – it would cost our students more to live on campus than it would to rent an apartment or even a house off-campus. Another simple reason: living out in the community helps you meet people and connect with future patients for your chiropractic internship in our on-campus clinic.

Sherman College is one of seven colleges in the Upstate area. Because of this, there are many housing options available to Sherman College students. The Upstate’s cost of living is about 10 percent below the national average, making housing near Sherman College very affordable.

Additionally, you can choose whether you want to live alone or have one or several roommates. Housing options are completely up to you and your comfort level. You can also choose how close you want to live to your chiropractic school. Most of our students tend to live close by, in Boiling Springs and Spartanburg; however, we also have students who choose to commute from other areas such as Duncan, Greer, and even Greenville. It is best to live within a 20-30 minute radius of the school if you can!

Pricing of apartments and housing during your 3.5 years in chiropractic college can vary, depending on the location and the lifestyle you want. Apartments and dorm-style living are available for as little as $600 per month, and houses can be rented for as little as $1,000 per month. Of course, if you choose to live with roommates, your monthly living expenses could be even lower!

You can download our housing flyer, and you can always use sites such as Zillow.com or Apartments.com to find something that fits your exact needs. Many apartments will give discounts for local students, so be sure to mention that you will be attending Sherman College of Chiropractic. We hope you find the perfect home away from home during chiropractic school!
