Hannouche Family Receives Community Champion Award from Sherman College

Community Champion Award

The Hannouche family of Spartanburg, SC, has received the prestigious Community Champion Award from Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg. This award recognizes the leadership of an individual, service provider, educator, or community-minded group demonstrating exemplary efforts in a project that provides advancement to Sherman College.

The Hannouche family have been strong Sherman College and chiropractic supporters for more than 40 years. The late Dr. Bill Hannouche was a member of the college’s first graduating class of 1973, often referred to as the Pioneer Class. He was a radiology instructor for Life College of Chiropractic for one year, then returned to Spartanburg to open a chiropractic practice.

Dr. Hannouche’s love and zeal for helping people drove him to serve as a chiropractor for more than 40 years. When he passed away in October 2021, Dr. Hannouche’s wife, Christine, and three children, Marie Shaya, Alicia Hannouche, and Dr. Nicolas Hannouche (a 2013 Sherman College graduate), created and funded the Dr. Bill Hannouche Memorial Scholarship with a $50,000 donation to carry on his legacy.

Dr. Nicolas Hannouche continues to manage the Hannouche Family Chiropractic Clinic his father established and remains active with Sherman College as a Regent, a Reach Out And Recruit member, and an Alumni Association member. The Hannouche family have, and will always be, strong supporters of chiropractic and Sherman College.

Sherman College honored alumni, chiropractors, and supporters during its 49th Lyceum, a homecoming and continuing education event attended by hundreds of chiropractors and students throughout the U.S. and internationally. Lyceum is held each year and involves three days of seminars, special events and other programs. More than 650 people attended this year’s event, held April 28-30.
