Sherman Chiropractic Center Visits Cherokee Charter Academy

On October 18, the Sherman College Chiropractic Health Center team had the privilege of visiting Cherokee Charter Academy in Gaffney, South Carolina. This special outreach opportunity allowed case doctors and student interns (DC2Bs) to share the wonders of the human body with young, curious minds, helping to inspire a greater awareness of health and wellness from an early age.

Leading the visit were Dr. Aryn Gabai, Clinic Case Doctor, and Dr. Steven Waltner, Clinic Support Faculty, who were joined by several passionate Sherman DC2B students. Together, the team engaged students with fun, interactive presentations that explored how the human body functions, emphasizing the central role of the nervous system in coordinating and controlling all bodily functions.

From simple demonstrations to age-appropriate discussions, the Sherman team broke down complex concepts in a way that was both exciting and easy to understand. Students learned how the brain and spine work together to support everyday activities like walking, thinking, and feeling, and how proper spinal health plays a crucial part in maintaining overall well-being.

In addition to sparking interest in the human body and chiropractic care, the visit was an opportunity for Sherman students to practice leadership and communication while serving the community. Their enthusiasm and professionalism made a lasting impact, leaving both the school staff and students inspired and engaged.
