When deciding whether you want to take the plunge and become a chiropractor, there are many different factors to consider: How much will it cost? How long will it take? Where can I go to school? One of our most frequently asked questions is, “Do I need to have a bachelor’s degree to come to Sherman College?” The answer may surprise you!

You do not need to have a bachelor’s degree to be accepted to Sherman College of Chiropractic. However, several states require both a bachelor’s degree and a doctor of chiropractic degree to be licensed to practice in those particular states. This information changes all the time, so we recommend checking the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards official website frequently. You can find all of this information, as well as NBCE information, here.

While we look at each student on a case-by-case basis, on average, we do recommend that all students get their bachelor’s degree before coming to Sherman College of Chiropractic. This way, you will never have any limitations on where you can practice chiropractic within the United States. Check out our recent blog post breaking down the best undergraduate majors for chiropractic. This article may be helpful if you are still working on your bachelor’s degree and want to become a Doctor of Chiropractic.
