Once you have decided that you want to apply to chiropractic school, the next question you might ask yourself is, “When is the best time for me to enroll?” While the answer can be different for everyone, there are some benefits to enrolling at certain times of the year.
Sherman College of Chiropractic enrolls students four times a year, once at the start of each season: winter, spring, summer, and fall. This means that you have four different opportunities to become a student in our doctor of chiropractic program.
One of the first things to consider is what time of year you want to enroll. This may depend on if you are graduating, taking some time off, or making a change in your career. There is no right or wrong time to enroll; keep in mind that the sooner you enroll, the sooner you can start your career as a doctor of chiropractic!
You may want to think about how big or small of a class you wish to join. Although class size changes for each quarter, certain quarters tend to have more students each year, and others usually have fewer students. If you want a bigger class (average of 50), you may consider enrolling in the fall quarter. However, if you want a smaller class (average of 15), you may wish to enroll in the spring. Either way, you’ll get plenty of mentoring and time with your instructors.
One important thing to note is that your starting date is not set in stone. If you apply for one quarter but then decide you want to come sooner or decide you need to start later, you have the flexibility to make that change. More good news? Spartanburg is beautiful during all four seasons.
As a reminder, we encourage all students to apply within six months to one year in advance of when they plan to enroll in classes. If you have questions or would like further information, please email our admissions team or fill out our request for information form. We are excited to welcome you to the Sherman College community, no matter when you choose to arrive!
