Myrtle Beach, SC, chiropractor Kelly Wright, D.C., was recently named Rising Star by Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC. The Rising Star Award is given to recent Sherman College graduates who have demonstrated exceptional achievements and service in the community.

Dr. Wright is a 2017 graduate of Sherman College of Chiropractic. During his time at Sherman, Dr. Wright was an active member of the AMPED Club and was acknowledged on the President’s List for his academic performance. In January 2018, Dr. Wright and his wife, Alyssa, opened the doors of Big Wave Chiropractic in his hometown of Myrtle Beach, SC.

Since its opening, Big Wave Chiropractic has delivered on its mission to “make waves” in the health of the Myrtle Beach area through principled chiropractic care, and was recently named the area’s “Best of the Beach” chiropractic practice. Beyond delivering excellence through chiropractic care, Big Wave Chiropractic initiates many community service and charitable giving efforts. In 2019, the office collected more than 230 pounds of non-perishable food items that helped provide more than 1,300 meals to those in need through its annual Pictures with Santa event; the office also collected more than 3,300 diapers for a local women’s shelter that provides services for underserved mothers and children during its annual April Showers Diaper Drive.

Dr. Wright is proud to serve entire families in the Myrtle Beach area and is thrilled with the growing number of pediatric patients he sees daily, including his own eight-month-old son, Wrigley.

Sherman College named its 2020 award recipients as part of Lyceum, a homecoming and continuing education event attended by hundreds of chiropractors and students throughout the U.S. and internationally. Lyceum is held each May and involves three days of seminars, special events and other programs; this year’s Lyceum was held as a live-streaming event for the first time ever to preserve this crucial continuing education opportunity for Doctors of Chiropractic. More than 700 people participated.
