“It’s truly an honor to serve as President for the Commonwealth of Virginia and for the UVCA,” Dr. Myers shared. “I look forward to growing chiropractic in the Commonwealth and ensuring members of the UVCA are fully informed, engaged, and are heard. Our goal is to increase membership. If any Sherman alumni are practicing in Virginia and aren’t members of the association, please reach out. I will personally talk with you to answer any and all questions.”

A Personal Path to Chiropractic

Dr. Myers’s introduction to chiropractic came through personal experience. As a high school athlete, he suffered a serious back injury during a baseball game that left him barely able to walk. Traditional medical approaches pointed toward surgery, but his grandmother suggested something different — chiropractic care. After just a few weeks of treatment, his pain had subsided, and he was back on the field. That experience revealed the power of the body to heal and sparked his desire to help others the same way.

He went on to earn a degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia and began graduate studies in Kinesiology. But it was chiropractic that truly aligned with his passion for helping others move and perform better. He enrolled at Sherman College of Chiropractic and began shaping a future focused on service, leadership, and movement-based care.

From Student to State Leader

At Sherman, Dr. Myers quickly emerged as a student leader. He served as President of the Athletic Club and founded the Sherman College Sports Chiropractic Club, creating opportunities for students to explore performance-focused chiropractic. He completed certifications in extremity adjusting and x-ray and served as a Patient Education Specialty Intern in the Sherman College Health Center.

These early leadership roles helped shape his vision for the kind of chiropractor he wanted to become — one who not only helps people heal but also helps the profession grow.

Today, Dr. Myers owns and operates East Coast Elite Chiropractic Sports Performance & Rehab, with offices in Blackstone and Powhatan, Virginia. His practice offers chiropractic adjustments to athletes and active individuals so they can perform at their best. He is also a member of the Professional Baseball Chiropractic Society and the Professional Hockey Chiropractic Society, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to supporting athletes at every level.
