Andrews Honored with Service to the Profession Award from Sherman College of Chiropractic

Oakland, CA, chiropractor Monique Andrews, D.C., recently received the Service to the Profession Award from Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC, in recognition of her contributions, time and commitment to the profession, the public and the college. The Service to the Profession Award is given to an individual who has demonstrated extraordinary, unselfish and noteworthy service to the chiropractic profession.

 

Andrews is a chiropractor, neuroscientist and international award-winning speaker who has been teaching about chiropractic, the brain and the mind-body continuum for 20 years. Prior to becoming a doctor of chiropractic, Andrews was a research scientist who published peer-reviewed papers in the fields of psychoneuroimmunology and the neurobiology of stress and reward. Today, she teaches internationally on topics such as the neurophysiology of subluxation, neurodevelopment of the pediatric patient, the connection between chiropractic and consciousness and polyvagal theory. She lives in Oakland, CA.

 

Affectionately known as “Dr. Mo,” she is adored by students and doctors for her ability to make even the most difficult concepts accessible to everyone. Andrews served as chair of basic sciences and professor of neurology and patient education at Life Chiropractic College West for six years and served a two-year term on the Board of the International Federation of Chiropractors and Organizations. She is currently CEO of Dr. Mo Knows, an interactive science and communication mastery program for chiropractors and chiropractic students.

 

In 2019, Andrews co-founded The PRANA Foundation with her wife, Tamara MacIntyre, D.C.; the organization’s mission is to cultivate an engaged, supportive community that fosters healing, growth and the fullest expression of our realized selves through continuing education, a professional community and personal development. Andrews’ mission is to help human beings transform through mentorship, education and love.

 

Sherman College honored alumni, chiropractors, and supporters during its 48th Lyceum, a homecoming and continuing education event attended by hundreds of chiropractors and students throughout the U.S. and internationally. Lyceum is held each year and involves three days of seminars, special events and other programs. More than 600 people participated this year.
