BirthMatters Receives Community Champion of the Year Award

This award is to recognize the leadership of an individual, service provider, educator, or community-minded group demonstrating exemplary efforts in a project that provides advancement to Sherman College.

 

BirthMatters is a non-profit organization that has been serving birthing families in Spartanburg, South Carolina for over 14 years.  They provide community doula services to expectant birthing people ages 25 and under, at no cost. BirthMatters’ mission is to reduce teen pregnancy through reproductive health education and to empower expectant young adults to raise healthy families through doulas utilizing the community health worker model.
