Distinguished Service Award
Local chiropractor and Sherman College Director of Continuing Education Jillian Kersh, D.C., has been honored with the Distinguished Service Award from Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC. This award is given to Sherman graduates who have distinguished themselves with service to the community, the profession, and Sherman College.
A Michigan native who has fully embraced South Carolina since relocating for chiropractic college, Dr. Kersh is a 2009 Sherman College graduate. She has practiced in both South Carolina and Pennsylvania. She joined the college as director of the Reach Out and Recruit (ROAR) program in 2013.
In 2015, Dr. Kersh was named director of continuing education, where she develops and supports all continuing education programming for the college, including Lyceum (the college’s annual homecoming and continuing education event), the International Research and Philosophy Symposium, and the Academy of Chiropractic Philosophers, as well as many other continuing education programs offered both online and in person, around the world. The college named her Staff Member of the Year for 2016 in recognition of her extraordinary leadership skills and her dedication to getting the job done right.
In the local community, Dr. Kersh is active with the Spartanburg Young Professionals and serves as a volunteer for Safe Homes/RAPE Crisis Coalition; she enjoys playing golf and reading.
Sherman College named its 2017 award recipients May 4-6 as part of Lyceum, an annual continuing education and homecoming event attended by hundreds of chiropractors and students throughout the U.S. and internationally. Lyceum is held on the college’s campus in Spartanburg, SC, and involves three days of seminars, special events, and other programs.
