Drs. Ralf Riddarhall and Andreas Soderstrom recently received the Service to Sherman College Award from Sherman College of Chiropractic in appreciation of their contributions, time and commitment to growing the chiropractic profession. The Service to Sherman College Award is given to individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary, unselfish and noteworthy service to Sherman College. This year the award honors two individuals from Sweden who were instrumental in helping bring the college’s Academy of Chiropractic Philosophers Program to Europe.

“Sherman College of Chiropractic is extremely grateful to these two doctors,” said college President Dr. Edwin Cordero. “Drs. Riddarhall and Soderstrom are supporting the foundation of their profession as well as helping Sherman College extend its influence and presence in the world.”

Dr. Riddarhall is a 2004 Sherman College graduate. He first practiced in The Netherlands, and most recently opened a practice in his hometown of Boras, Sweden, in October 2010. He serves as secretary of the two newly established Swedish and Nordic Vitalistic chiropractic organizations—the Swedish Wellness Epigenetic and the Nordic Alliance of Chiropractors and Organizations.

Dr. Soderstrom studied at both the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic and Life University. He is founder and chairman of both the SWE Chiropractic and the Nordic Alliance of Chiropractors and Organizations. He is also the owner at Kiropraktisk Center where he sees patients, and Emprove Individual Company Care, where he coaches staff in leading positions, mostly M.D.s and C.E.O.s regarding wellness, goal setting and sound decision-making.

In the summer of 2012, Dr. Riddarhall began talks with Dr. Bill Decken, the head of Sherman College’s Academy of Chiropractic Philosophers (ACP), to discuss the possibility of organizing a philosophy program in Europe. Thanks to these two doctors’ work, that possibility has become a reality.

Drs. Riddarhall and Soderstrom promoted the Sherman College vision and mission of chiropractic in Sweden and worked tirelessly to enroll 20 doctors in the ACP Program. The first ACP module in Europe was held in Värnamo, Sweden, earlier this year. This group will go through the curriculum this year, and the class will culminate with a graduation at Sherman College’s International Research and Philosophy Symposium on the Sherman College campus in Spartanburg, SC, in October.

Sherman College named its 2014 award recipients May 1-3 as part of Lyceum, an annual continuing education and homecoming event attended by hundreds of chiropractors throughout the U.S. and internationally. Lyceum is held on the college’s campus in Spartanburg, SC, US, and involves three days of seminars, special events, and other programs.
