Sherman College Honors 64 New Doctors of Chiropractic
December 2024 & March 2025 Commencement Ceremonies
Spartanburg, S.C. — Sixty-four students from across the U.S. and around the world earned their Doctor of Chiropractic degrees from Sherman College of Chiropractic during the college’s 148th Commencement on December 14, 2024.
President Dr. Jack Bourla congratulated the graduates, praising their hard work and dedication:
“You have proven yourself worthy of being doctors of chiropractic, and we could not be more proud. As you embark on your professional journeys, you carry Sherman’s proud 51-year legacy with you.”
Honoring Excellence

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Allie Hamstead
Dr. Allie Hamstead, a 2012 Sherman graduate and Assistant Professor of Clinical Sciences, delivered the commencement address. Known for her humor and heart, she shared lessons she imparts to her four daughters—words of wisdom for the new DCs.
Dr. Hamstead and her husband, Dr. Michael Hamstead, also a Sherman alumnus, own AlignLife: Chiropractic & Natural Health Center in Simpsonville, S.C., where they provide gentle, family-centered care.

About the Program
Sherman College’s Doctor of Chiropractic program spans 14 quarters (nearly 5,000 hours) of classroom, lab, and clinical training, including an internship at the on-campus Chiropractic Health Center, which provides more than 30,000 patient visits annually.
Students must complete at least 90 undergraduate credit hours, including science prerequisites, before entering the program.
