Tishman Awarded Spirit of Sherman College Award 2012

Boca Raton, FL, chiropractor Jerry Tishman, D.C., has received the Spirit of Sherman College Award from his alma mater, Sherman College of Chiropractic. The Spirit of Sherman College Award is presented to the Sherman graduate who exemplifies the true spirit of Sherman College in his/her professional life.

Dr. Tishman graduated in the college’s pioneer class in 1976. He has been an ardent and steady supporter of the college, active in its student recruitment and fundraising campaigns. He has been a member of the Sherman College Alumni Association every year since graduation, attended every homecoming, and has been a member of the college’s Board of Regents continuously since 1978.

He practiced in Traverse City, MI, from 1976 to 1982 and has been in practice in Boca Raton since 1983.

His leadership in the community and the chiropractic profession is shown by his membership in various organizations, including the Board of Directors of the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce from (1988-1991), the Board of Trustees of the Pennsylvania College of Chiropractic from (1988-1995), and a charter member of the Boca Raton Sunrise Rotary Club.

Sherman College named its 2012 award recipients May 24-26 as part of Lyceum, an annual continuing education and homecoming event attended by hundreds of chiropractors throughout the U.S. and internationally. Lyceum is held on the college’s campus in Spartanburg, SC, and involves three days of seminars, special events, and other programs.
